Holidays, birthdays, and other special occasions call for the giving of the perfect gift--books, but it can be daunting to choose in a bookstore wilderness full of shiny new books for children. The Guide Book to Gift Books points you to landmark s in the terrain.

Offering brief annotations for over one hundred of the most satisfying books to give (and to receive), the Guide Book is a compact, convenient, and lightweight pocket guide. Listed books have all been recommended or starred in full Bulletin reviews from the last four years. Each title, whether readaloud or readalone, has met strict criteria, including literary quality and proven enjoyability.

Listings are divided into age groups and include books of a variety of syles and types, from fiction to non-fiction, photoessays to poetry. All titles are verified as currently in print and include author, title, publisher, and current list price.

Retail price is $2.50 with a discount available for orders of 25 or more. Shipping will be $1 for the first copy and $0.50 for each additional copy. The following special rates (shipping is additional) are available for bookstores and libraries:
